Detex Exit Alarms
This timed bypass exit alarm comes with a remote door release and a rechargeable battery which will allow a manager to temporarily bypass the alarm without requiring the alarm to be turned off. With a
This feature will remind managers to close and secure the door, thus minimizing
the door prop time which in effect saves on energy costs. While the alarm is hard-wired for low voltage power the rechargeable battery feature ensures an uninterrupted and secure power feed.
The alarm system`s maximum allowable bypass time can be adjusted to 5, 10, 20 or 40 minutes and is user friendly to adjust using two simple slide jumpers from inside the secured enclosure.
The Detex EAX-3500 hard-wired, timed-bypass alarm powered by 12 to 24 VAC will sound a 100dB alarm siren when someone attempts an unauthorized exit and yet can be temporarily bypassed for building maintenance activities or for deliveries. The alarm is programmed to sound a reminder for the manager to close and re-secure the door.
Detex EAX-3500 is easy to install and operate when following the installation instructions.
The LED lights of the panel show the armed status and bypass time providing for quick and easy
reference and the housing is tamper-resistant to protect from defeating the alarm.

Another tactic to help maintain key control is to install a mortise cylinder for the alarm to be keyed to existing master-key system. (Mortise cylinder sold separate from the alarm.)
The Detex EAX-3500 and has the rechargeable backup battery which will provide for 72-hours of operation.
The alarm unit has a low battery alert.The alarm with its timed bypass allows alarm to remain bypassed
for allotted minutes, automatically rearming upon door closing.
Each alarm accepts 5, 6 or 7-pin standard and interchangeable core mortise cylinders with a standard Yale cam.
Different size cylinders and cylinders different lengths can be automatically adjusted for The Detex EAX-3500's patented cam assembly, adjusting automatically without use of additional
spacers or cylinder collars.
